Please just call me Pastor Don or just plain Don. I began serving Greenbrier UMC in July 2017. My wife, Cathy, and I have been married since 1980. We have two sons and one daughter. The eldest is a USMC veteran of Iraq, now in business in Wisconsin. Our second son is a surgeon in the US Air Force in Ohio (his wife is a civilian pediatrician) and our daughter is a chemical engineer in Nashville.
I was born and raised in Nashville. I was commissioned a US Army field artillery officer through ROTC at Wake Forest University, and served in the Regular Army until retiring in 1995 to begin studies at Vanderbilt Divinity School. I became a licensed local pastor in 1997 and have served under full-time appointment since then. I was ordained an elder in 2002.
My focus in ministry is pretty simple: live as and lead others to become a disciple of Jesus Christ. The life of discipleship is also pretty simple: every day just fall in love with the people whom Christ loves.
If you are looking for a church home, or simply want to check us out, I look forward to meeting you soon! God bless!
